BEAT SESSIONS #12

Special Guest Speakers

Desmond Cheese & Saint Surly

After a hectic 2020 we’re able to host Beat Sessions, this time bigger, better and with two special guest speakers! The ultra chill duo, Desmond Cheese and Brisbane’s own boom bap beat maker Saint Surly. Joining us Saturday 29th May at Substation No.5, Woolloongabba, these two homegrown acts have paved permanent in-roads for the producer scene in BNE, just check out their discography! RSVP is essential, so hit the link below and secure your spot to attend AND showcase your music!

Beat Retreat Recap

We have been road testing and developing Beat Retreat (a getaway version of Beat Sessions). The first one held October last year. We’re about to launch the 2nd one and soon will be available to the public. At the moment its by invitation only but we’re learning a lot so far about how to offer an incredible experience.

BUFFET EP

We’ve started to theme our EPs. Food be the flavour of the month. Stream on Soundcloud now!

YUKI EP

Yuki (雪) is the Japanese word for snow. SHOKU pays a lot of homage to Japan and its culture. Bar Chroma and TomTom, everyone involved in the making of this EP has spent extensive time in Japan in the last six months. We are all drawn to Japanese art and cultural forms. We owe a lot to Japan; this is but a small homage to to the country, as well as our sonic vision of winter. Enjoy.

BLACK EP

BLACK is the first of its kind from us at @shokulife. There will be many more like this. All artists are from Brisbane. All artists are different. The compilation exhibits the individual sounds of shoku artists as they explore their individual style. Welcome to Shoku.
